How does the Program work?
It’s simple. Those employees who change their lifestyles and live healthy lives contribute to declines in insurance claims. Each individual with health risks will set goals with the help of a coach to live more active and eat healthier.
Those who don’t opt in contribute more for their insurance which effectively subsidizes the entire cost of the program. It’s a solution that pays for itself.
The powerful back-end dashboard allows all participants to track their goals with HIPAA compliant privacy. This convenient tool gives a quick snapshot of successes, failures, and areas where they need help and encouragement.
What is a coach?
It’s an individual, a real, living and breathing person that you can access by phone or email. We create a portal on our web site with your name and information, protected by HIPAA regulations and our security system. You and your coach can talk about your needs and goals, they can point out where you are succeeding and failing, and they can recommend ways for you to stay on track.
What are the qualifications of the coaches?
All coaches must be nurses or have 4-year health education degrees. They are the best in the business and they care about your success. They receive additional training from Orriant on how to manage lifestyle changes and how to help you reach your goals.
Is my participation mandatory?
No. You choose to participate and you choose the approach that’s right for you. Coaches help you understand your personal life choices and how to improve the most important aspects of your live and your body. However, your incentive is contingent on your participation and success in the program.
We have found that, in many companies, some 20% of employees are already living active, healthy lives. We can help them maintain that but usually they are in great shape.
Another 60% or so have health risks and really need to understand what’s keeping them from being healthy and in most cases it involves living a healthier lifestyle.
What are my goals?
You decide which goals you will work on. In a telephonic meeting with your coach you discuss what you have tried in the past and what you would be willing to work on now. The coach will support you in set reasonable goals that will move you towards better health. Small steady progress is better than trying to leap beyond your reach. You must reach 50% of your goals, 75% of the time.
What size of company can participate?
Orriant is having success at every level, from small companies (20 or more benefited employees) to very large companies and everything in-between.
